Peaceful Psyche

Welcome to the Peaceful Pshyche!

This was built for the challenge BnS93 Age of Aquarius but feel free to add it to your wonderful town!

  • Design and build a commune with 3 separate private buildings, a communal building with kitchen, communal bathing facilities, a garden, and room for their noted skill or hobby items.
  • Lot should be in as isolated a location as possible.
  • No roads or pavement, only walking or bike paths.
  • Build should incorporate generally eco-friendly elements.

So, when I read that, the first thing I thought was that 'hippies' love being one with nature, peace, love, which in turn generates happiness and good karma. Thinking about the build I wanted, I definitely wanted to incorporate nature as best I could. What better way than to make it mostly outdoors?! I love this little plot, it's wonderful and colorful. There are three sleeping quarters, which I've come to call Glorified Tents. Each decorated slightly differently, but with the same overall design.

Since there's not really separate rooms to this build, like my usual houses, the picture presentation will be a little different, but lets get started! I'm going to go ahead and begin with overhead angles.

 Lets look around the lot as a whole;

This is the entrance to the place, and also where the people that live here sometimes gather their handmade items to sell to the general public.

The walkway toward the center of the commune. Then the center, where we would gather to blow some magnificent bubbles, and chat.

The plot has a wonderful fire pit and lit pathways, it's so easy to navigate in the dark!

There is a beautiful garden occupying one corner of the place, which has plenty of space to put in more plants if desired.

There's a laundry area close to the bathrooms. What better way to dry your clothes than out in the warm breezes? This space has a small seating spot too, to relax while you wait, maybe read a book, or just chill.

 The wonderful people living here each have their own hobbies of course, and here are the area's that they have set up to keep up with them.

Everybody enjoys the dance floor though!! Also, each one loves to swim, or skinny dip, in the pond here on the plot. There are fish in there too, so feel free to catch some dinner!

 Now, the center of the commune has a place to sit by the fire, and a place to sit and play games. Not to mention the eating area! Here's a couple pics of those places. I'd also like to point out that this place is loaded with bird houses and bird feeders. Not to mention the wind chimes all around. Nature at every turn.

 From here we'll explore the kitchen space, it's stocked well and has plenty of space to move around.

 Right across the pathway from the kitchen is the communal bath. It's equipped with two private toilets and two showers. Everything you need to get cleansed is right nearby!

 The back of the bathrooms;

 I think the only thing we have left to explore is the individual bedrooms! Let's take a peek.

Glorified tent #1, outer front and interior. The last is a shot of the back;

Glorified tent #2 Outer front and interior, and pic of the back (this one is really close to some trees, though it is decorated back there.) This one is equipped with a computer inside, safe from the elements, as one of our residents is a writer who needs to send her work to her boss via computer.

Glorified tend #3, third and final indoor space. Front, inside, and back!

I think that covers everything, though I will say, pictures don't seem to do this place justice. It's a wonderful plot and so beautiful. I'd love to live here myself!

    1. Aww thanks for your comment! The 'peace path' was actually the first thing done on the lot (a rough draft anyway) everything else stems from that! I'm glad you like the build, thanks for checking it out?
